Auzelle Epeneter

Auzelle Epeneter is a poet based in Los Angeles, California. Her work takes place on the border between poetry and prose, where she explores identity, relationships, and experience. She is currently at work on a collection about self-knowledge and strategies for survival. At Newnan Art Rez, she will be creating new poems that draw on her memories of living in nearby Fayette County, where she finished high school after her family temporarily relocated from the West Coast. The work will examine and celebrate the tensions between the people, landscapes, and systems that shaped this transformative period. Auzelle’s writing has been published in ZYZZYVA, Passages North, Forge, and City Works.
