Christine Cassano

Christine Cassano’s current work explores interdependent biological systems and their relationships to external technologies and industrial environments – a hybridization of biology and technology. She works in a large variety materials and processes to fabricate her mixed media wall pieces, installations and assemblage sculptures. She exhibits her work locally, regionally and nationally.

Cassano is a grant recipient of the Phoenix Institute of Contemporary Art, which published an artist catalog of her work. In 2016 she received a Contemporary Forum Artist Grant from the Phoenix Art Museum, supported in part by the Nathan Cummings Foundation Endowment, and in 2018 was recipient of an Arizona Commission on the Arts grant funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. Born and raised on the coast of Southern Virginia, Cassano now lives and works in the warehouse district of downtown Phoenix.
